The Restoration of three Florence State Archive Manuscripts, Contacting Some Registration About The Life of Leonardo da Vinci

Following the proposal by the Florence State Archive, the Foundation will promote the restoration of three prestigious documents which attest some events of Leonardo da Vinci’s life. These documents are kept in the Florence State Archive and are:
– Ospedale di Santa Maria Nuova 5641: document where is mentioned the Leonardo’s balance at Santa Maria Nuova Hospital when he died
– Camera dell’Arme 35: manuscript where is mentioned the Leonardo’s debt to Florence Lordship, after he received an advance on his remuneration for the painting of an altar-piece for St. Bernardo Chapel
– Notarile antecosimiano 16912: document where is the entry of the Leonardo’s birth, written by his grand-father Antonio on the certified act prepared by Leonardo’s father, the notary Piero di Guido da Vinci
After the restoration of these documents, they will be shown during the exhibition entitled “Leonardo da Vinci: the life, the documents, the iconography”, organised with the co-operation of the Commissione per l’Edizione Nazionale dei Manoscritti e dei Disegni di Leonardo da Vinci, headed by Prof. Paolo Galluzzi.
