The Šostakovič Project consists of five concerts, to celebrate the centenary of the birth of the greatest composer of the 20th century, whose Russian origin perfectly matches the Foundation Del Bianco aims. The project also offers to young musicians of all countries the possibility of exchanging their musical experiences with young Italian musicians, sharing the program of these concerts and allowing a positive cultural relationship among them.
In fact, the program of these five concerts will be divided in two parts, one of which will be played by young talented Italian pianists, while the other half of the program will be played by young talented musicians (pianists, ensembles, singers etc.) coming from abroad. The five Italian pianists, whose names are listed below, will play Dimitri Šostakovič’s Preludes and Fugues op. 87, a masterpiece of piano literature which is rarely performed. For the other half of the program of these concerts the Foundation Del Bianco expects proposals from International Academies of Music concerning other young talented musicians who will perform a program at their choice, possibily by Šostakovič or by other Russian or Slavian composers.
The proposals (bearing as object: Šostakovič Project) shall be addressed to the Del Bianco Foundation, accompanied by:
- a CV of the proposed musicians;
- letter of presentation of the University/Academy of Music
- filled Application Form
- a list of their complete repertoire;
- a picture of the proposed musician (or ensemble);
- a CD (demo) of a duration of about 30 minutes, with the recording of a live music performance of the proposed musician (or ensemble), preferably including the proposed program.
- A CD (presentation) of the University/Academy of provenance max. 4 min to be projected before the concert. This presentation can be power point presentation or DVD and should include:
o full name of University/Academy
