The Exhibition The title of the exhibition Roberto Capucci “Returning to Origins” a Homage to Florence clearly shows what is to come today in the history of Roberto Capucci and what is going to be his statement for the future.
The birth of Capucci’s works originates in Florence in 1951, along with the birth of Italian Fashion due to the intuition and will of the Marchese Giovanbattista Giorgini: to dedicate the exhibition to the city that discovered and launched him and that officially and permanently inaugurates the Museum of the Foundation on October 27th 2007 – set in Villa Bardini thanks to the support of the Bardini and Peyron Foundation of the Ente Cassa di Risparmio of Florence, that gave a significant contribution –, which opens a new era in his life is something spontaneous and natural for Roberto Capucci.
The content of the event implies the creations that Roberto Capucci exhibits to the public from October 27th 2007 to February 27th 2008 at Villa Bardini: there are inventions that include unusual and classical contemporary lines, antique and bright colours. It is about the exhibition of eight unprecedented works with other sophisticated solutions of shapes selected from the Archives.
The message that the Foundation sends is clear: Florence has been an initiation stage, it has helped evaluate the Maestro’s work during his fifty seven-years of activity and, thanks to the treasures that preserves, also stimulate his style that always celebrates and privileges beauty; today Florence represents the future, a city come back to strengthen and convey to others those traits that distinguish the course of Roberto Capucci: the constant search of ideas, a philosophy that focuses on creative freedom, the intuition of solutions, the experimentation and invention of a unique working method that draws from tradition, confirming and reviving the centennial and all Italian supremacy of high-class craftwork.
The heritage of the Foundation’s high fashion creation, sculpture-dresses, illustrations, sketches, preliminary drawings, audiovisuals, press articles and pictures become a heritage of Florence, also thanks to the support of the Ente Cassa di Risparmio of Florence: by returning to Florence Capucci affirms his statement.
