Description:
Conference will be dedicated to the memory of Aleksey Komech - renowned specialist in the field of Byzantine and Russian Cultural Heritage, and renowned expert in the history, theory and practice of restoration of monuments in architecture, engaged for a long time in the environmental protection in respect of historical and cultural heritage.

Topics of discussion

• Aleksey Komech and its contribution in the protection and preservation of the Russian historical and cultural heritage and the worldwide;
• historical-cultural heritage and problems of its protection, conservation and restoration;
• nowadays problems and possible compromises between the need to preserve the architectural heritage and the urban development of the cities.

The meeting attended by representatives of Russian cultural institutions, international experts in the sphere of preservation of historical and cultural heritage, as well as Florentine teachers and academics who have known Prof. Komech personally, or who shared the field of research and activities.
