Austerlitz Battle and Presburg Peace - Conference in Florence Celebrations in Florence 200th Anniversary of Austerlitz Battle
Viva Hotel Alexander Novoli, Viale Guidoni, 101
Florence, 8 - 10 december 2005
The 2nd December 1805 the defeat of Austria by Napoleonic Army in Austerlitz, deeply influenced the future of Europe. Still today, what represented one of largest and important military events of history, provokes contrasting feelings; on one side a feeling of admiration for the art of war, that was expressed in the field; on the other side, of mercy and strong blame for the thousand of fallen. In the 200° Anniversary of Austerlitz we have intended to offer a new occasion of reflection on a crucial moment of the European history and on the relation heavy of consequences and unfortunately always of its actuality, between war and politics.
